These terms and conditions relate to the sale of tickets for Central Cinema via online sales at the website centralcinema.co.nz using the booking system Veezi.

Purchase of Tickets
The purchase of tickets or any other product or service on this website forms a legally binding contract between you and Central Cinema Inc.

Payment Methods
Central Cinema accepts Visa and MasterCard credit cards for online purchases. We do not accept Amex and Diners. Payment is charged in NZ Dollars. Payments are processed through a secure payment system. Central Cinema will not store or transfer any of your credit card information. All data is transferred using secure servers.
If purchasing tickets in person at the Box Office then EFTPOS or cash are the only forms of payment accepted.

Online Booking Fees
Tickets purchased on this website are subject to payment of a non-refundable Booking Fee of $1 per ticket purchased. Central Cinema reserves the right to alter any and all fees from time to time and without notice.

Covid-19 My Vaccine Pass required for entry
Central Cinema is abiding by government rules to allow the continued operation of the cinema under the Covid-19 Protection Framework, and therefore all patrons over the age of 12 will be required to present their My Vaccine Pass in order to attend a movie until these rules are rescinded.

Allocated Seating
Central Cinema does not provide allocated seating. Seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, no matter when or how tickets were purchased. If special seating requirements are needed please advise the cinema and we will do our best to cater to your needs.

Censor Warning
Please check the censor warning and ratings before buying tickets. The censor's rating restrictions will be strictly adhered to. Please also check for any additional ratings/entry restrictions that may be applicable for events/movies from time to time.

Identification
Where tickets requiring identification are purchased, Central Cinema reserves the right to insist that suitable photographic identification be presented upon collection of the tickets. Failure to present suitable photographic identification will result in the applicable tickets being forfeited.

Online Booking Confirmation
If you do not receive a confirmation number (in the form of a confirmation page or email) after submitting payment information, or if you experience an error message or service interruption after submitting payment information, it is your responsibility to confirm the Booking by emailing info@centralcinema.co.nz. You may be the only person aware of any problem that has occurred during the purchase process. Central Cinema will not be responsible for losses (monetary or otherwise) if you assume that an order was not placed because you failed to receive confirmation.

Online Booking Tickets
Your Booking Confirmation will be sent via an email to the email address that you entered on the Booking Confirmation page. This confirmation may need to be shown on a phone/device or printed and shown at the Cinema Ticket Counter on arrival.

Refunds and Exchanges
Tickets purchased online are for a specific session only and are sold on a strict no-refund no-exchange and no-transfer basis unless required by law.

Goods and Services Tax (GST)
Prices listed on this website include GST where applicable.

Pricing and Other Errors
If the amount you pay for a ticket is incorrect (regardless of whether because of an error in a price posted on this website or otherwise communicated to you), or you are able to order a ticket before its scheduled on-sale or pre-sale date or you are able to order a ticket that should not have been released for sale, then Central Cinema retains the right to cancel that ticket (or the order for that ticket) and to refund you the amount that you paid. This will apply regardless of human error or a transactional malfunction of this website.

Cancelled/Postponed Events
Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by Central Cinema due to exceptional circumstances. Should this occur, Central Cinema will attempt to contact you and may offer either an alternative screening option, or a refund of the ticket price paid, or a gift voucher in lieu of a refund.

Times and session details on this site are subject to change without notice.

Modification of terms
Central Cinema reserves the right to change these terms and conditions or to modify this website from time to time. The user shall be responsible for regularly reviewing these terms and conditions.

Ticket purchase and billing information
When purchasing tickets through this website you will be required to provide personal details, including credit card billing information. Your credit card details are used for real-time billing of ticket purchases and are not retained on our server. To facilitate your ticket purchase your billing information is shared with our banking gateway partner Windcave. 

Electronic email addresses
We will record your email address if you transmit it to us electronically. All information provided by you in completing a Membership Application will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and will not be made available to any third party without your consent.
Your email will only be used by Central Cinema Alexandra for the purpose of administering membership benefits and communications.

Government Requirements
Should the NZ Government, at any time, impose conditions on cinema attendance as a result of Covid 19 or similar pandemics, Central Cinema will implement those conditions.  This could include social distancing, wearing a face covering, showing a vaccination certificate and limiting the number of people in the cinema. 

Governing Law
These terms and conditions shall be construed in accordance with, and shall be governed by, the laws of New Zealand.

Central Cinema Membership

Membership of Central Cinema is achieved through a subscription payment.
Membership is available by online sign-up on the Central Cinema Incorporated website or at the Cinema Ticket Counter.
There are four Membership categories:

  • Couple @ $50 per year
  • Individual @ $30 per year
  • Senior Citizen (65yrs and over) @ $25 per year
  • Student/Beneficiary @ $25 per year

Personal details provided by membership applicants are held electronically and treated with the utmost confidentiality. They may be used by Central Cinema only for the purpose of administering membership benefits and communications. They will not be made available to any other organisation.

Members are entitled to purchase one cinema admission ticket at reduced price to every screening they choose to attend (Couples are entitled to two such tickets) – except for privately arranged film screenings.
Reduced price tickets are not transferrable and may be used only by Members.

Persons collecting reduced price Member tickets may be asked for proof of entitlement. If adequate proof is not provided the tickets may be forfeited.

Membership runs for 12 months but may be renewed upon payment of the appropriate annual fee.
Members will receive email communications from Central Cinema on a regular basis to advise them of forthcoming screening programs and other movie news. The frequency and type of such emails, and the option to unsubscribe from receiving them, can be set by members using the Cinema's website.

Members will have the choice to receive invitations to attend special members-only cinema evenings and other events.
Members may have the opportunity to book some movie tickets before they become available to non-members.

Central Cinema Loyalty Points

Every adult shall be entitled to earn points towards gaining a free admission at the rate of 1 point for every $1 expended on the purchase of adult tickets (excluding Big Bike Film Night screenings and similar private events).

Members of CCI will require 84 points for one free admission and non-members will require 105 points for one free admission (in each case this represents seven paid admissions).

Loyalty points free admissions can be used for most of the films we screen – with the exceptions of Independent distributor films, including Big Bike Film Nights, and distributor priced films e.g. National Theatre Live productions. 

Personal details provided by applicants are held electronically and treated with the utmost confidentiality. They are used by Central Cinema only for the purpose of administering loyalty scheme benefits and communications. They will not be made available to any other organisation.
